Make sure it is turned on You might think that this is ridiculous, but it happens all of the time. Some people just don't think about it and can't figure out why it will not start. 2. Make sure all of the cables are plugged in I know, the obvious stuff. Again, pretty common. It happens, stuff gets moved, the cat walks behind the computer, and the next thing you know, it doesn't work. 3. Make sure your wireless card is turned on I have seen this one many times. You might not have even known that it could be turned off. 4. Do your backups regularly This is more of a maintenance issue. It will save you when your computer is really broken. 5. Don't let your neighbor fix it! Many times the guy who says he can fix it, will make it worse. They have just enough experience to be dangerous. We are happy to talk to you on the phone and help you.
